Swedish
Swedish massage is a relaxing, nourishing treatment for the whole body aimed at promoting healing, rebalancing the body and enhancing overall wellbeing. It uses massage strokes such as effleurage, petrissage, tapotment, vibration, friction and passive joint movements to produce a whole range of benefits. These can include:
The treatment will always be tailored to your specific needs and work the areas that need it most.
Deep Tissue
Deep tissue massage focuses on realigning layers of muscles, fascia, tendons and connective tissue deep within the body structures to reduce tension and stiffness and release adhesions. It involves applying firm sustained pressure using slow, deep strokes to produce a whole range of benefits which can include:
The treatment will always be tailored to your specific needs and work the areas that need it most.
Aromatherapy massage
Aromatherapy is a personalised, sensory treatment blending the therapeutic powers of top quality essential oils from aromatic herbs, plants and trees to create a bespoke blend to nurture both body and mind. Whether you are looking to unwind, alleviate pain, target a particular condition or restore balance, an aromatherapy massage offers a totally natural and effective way to support your overall health and well being.
After an initial consultation, a selection of essential oils, tailored to your individual needs, are blended with nourishing carrier oils and this unique blend is then used for a full body massage treatment. The massage technique is similar to Swedish, using gentle to medium pressure and involving kneading and smoothing techniques. As you breathe in the scents, they travel to your limbic system, the emotional centre of the brain, whilst being gently absorbed through the skin, creating a powerful multi-dimensional healing experience.
Benefits from this treatment can include:
In addition, the carrier oils used, such as apricot kernel, macadamia, evening primrose, jojoba and avocado provide a whole host of benefits via contents such as Vitamin A or E, fatty acids and beta carotene to rejuvenate, deeply hydrate, protect against free radicals or UV damage, promote cellular turnover and reduce inflammation.
Please note that due to the powerful properties of the essential oils, there might be exclusions on oils used due to contraindications, such as high blood pressure, the use of certain medications, kidney or liver disease, epilepsy and respiratory issues. This will be discussed with the client during the consultation.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD)
MLD is a gentle, therapeutic technique that uses light, rhythmic hand movements to target the lymphatic vessels located just beneath the skin, encouraging the natural drainage of lymph fluid via the lymphatic nodes. Its gentle, targeted approach works directly with the lymphatic system and can produce a whole range of benefits which include:
The treatment will always be tailored to your specific needs and work the areas that need it most.
For a more targeted treatment, MLD can be combined with the use of essential oils to boost its impact. For example:
A full, initial consultation will be carried out prior to your first appointment
